To enable a project to work with an HCL Compass user database

Before you begin

If your HCL Compass schema designer or administrator has set up an HCL Compass user database for UCM use, you can use this procedure.

About this task

If you are creating a new project, you can also enable the project to work with HCL Compass in Step 5 of the New Project Wizard. Set Yes, use the following Compass connections and select the connection and user database.

Procedure

  1. In the left pane of the Project Explorer, right-click the project and click Properties.
    The property window displays.
  2. Click Compass and then set Project is Compass-enabled.
    On Windows systems, Link to the Compass User Database is seeded with a name. The HCL Compass Schema Repository window appears with the connection corresponding to that user database selected.
  3. Select the user database that you want to link to the project.
    The first time that you enable a project, the HCL Compass Login window is displayed.
  4. Enter your credentials (user name, password, and the name of the HCL Compass user database to which you are linking the project).
  5. Click Next. Then, click OK.
  6. To set the HCL Compass development policies that you want to enforce, click Policies and Compass.
  7. Click OK when you are finished.
