DiskAccess: Supporting the HCL VersionVault server process user

DiskAccess must be configured to allow logins by the HCL VersionVault server process user. After you install DiskAccess on a computer and establish a DiskAccess log-on for yourself, configure an additional DiskAccess logon for the HCL VersionVault server process user account on Linux® or the UNIX system.

About this task

Note: This procedure requires an account for the HCL VersionVault server process user on Linux or the UNIX system. See Common user and group names for more information.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Windows® host as the HCL VersionVault server process user.
  2. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. Start the DiskAccess program.
  3. On the Authentication page, specify the user name and password for the HCL VersionVault server process user on Linux or the UNIX system (the name and password that you used in Step 1).
  4. Click OK.
  5. When you exit the program, the confirmation window should indicate that you are authenticated on Linux or the UNIX system as the HCL VersionVault server process user.
If there is an error or if the confirmation window shows a UID of -1 and GID of -2, you did not supply a valid name and password in Step 3.
