Setting your environment

About this task

Before you start the conversion process, verify that the Windows® PATH and TMP environment variables are set correctly, and that the Microsoft® Visual SourceSafe current project has been specified.

Procedure

  1. Verify that the PATH environment variable includes the location of the Microsoft Visual SourceSafe executables.

  2. Set the TMP environment variable to a location where clearimport can safely store temporary files. For example:

    set TMP=c:\temp

  3. Verify that your Visual SourceSafe current project is set so that clearexport_ssafe exports the required files and directories.
    For example:

    ss cp
    Current Project is $/payroll/bugfix
    ss cp ..
    Current Project is $/payroll
    ss dir
    $/payroll
    $bugfix
    $progs
    $queries
