Welcome to the HCL Verse On-Premises administrator documentation.

    • Overview

HCL Verse™ is an email and business messaging experience that is based on an innovative user-centric design, including social analytics and advanced search capabilities. Verse helps users quickly find and focus on what content is most important, empowering them to build stronger working relationships while optimizing business results.

    • Accessibility features

Accessibility features assist users who have a disability, such as restricted mobility or limited vision, to use information technology content successfully.

    • System requirements

See the Verse On-Premises System Requirements on the HCL Customer Support site.

    • Installing and configuring

To install and configure HCL Verse™ On-Premises on a Domino® mail server, complete the following steps.

    • Configuring integration with HCL Sametime

Starting with Verse On-Premises 1.0.3, integration with Sametime 9.0.1 FP1 is supported.

    • Enabling the new calendar event form

A new calendar event form design offers an improved experience for creating and managing events in the calendar.

    • Enabling users to add photos of themselves

You can enable Verse to use the Gravatar service to display photos of users. Users upload images to the Gravatar service and the client's server connects to Gravatar to display the photos in the "important to me" bar.

    • Enabling password and Notes ID options

As of Verse 1.0.8, features are available in Security preferences for users to change the passwords they use to log in to Verse, change their Notes ID passwords, and manage their Notes IDs. This topic describes the configuration requirements for each of these features.

    • Enabling QR codes for joining online meetings

Add the notes.ini setting VOP_GK_FEATURE_209=1 to the server notes.ini file to allow users to use QR codes to join online meetings.

    • Enabling improved integration of forwarding addresses

The improved integration of forwarding addresses feature introduced in release 1.0.7 is off by default. Follow these steps to enable it for your users.

    • Enabling replying to and forwarding messages from archived mail

If your users use another client such as HCL iNotes® to archive mail on a server, or if you archive mail for them, as of release 1.0.8, users can see their archived mail in Verse. By default, users can't reply to or forward messages from a mail archive, but you can enable this capability.

    • Enabling relative paths for archived mail

To allow archive mail file URLs to be relative to the Domino server being used, use the server notes.ini setting iNotes_WA_UseRelativeUrl=1.

    • Controlling the concurrent iCalendar imports allowed

Use the server notes.ini setting VOP_ConCurr_Upload_iCal to control the number of iCalendars that can be imported concurrently into users' Verse calendars. By default, 30 concurrent imports are allowed.

    • Integrating with Connections

You can configure HCL Verse™ On-Premises to work with HCL Connections™ 6 or 5.5 CR2.

    • Integrating with Box

If you've purchased Box, follow this procedure to enable users to share Box files and folders from HCL Verse™.

    • Deploying extensions

You can deploy extensions to enhance the functionality and experience of Verse On-Premises. To do so, you register your own web applications with Verse that declare one or more extensions.

    • Uninstalling

If you need to uninstall Verse™ On-Premises application files, simply stop the Domino Web server, remove the Verse On-Premises .jar files, and then restart the Domino Web server.
