New features and changes
The following new features were introduced in Unica Platform.
New features in 25.1.0.1
- Support IDP initiated login
- Added support for Identity Provider (IDP)-initiated Single Sign-On (SSO). Previously, SSO authentication could only be initiated from the Service Provider (SP) side. This enhancement allows users to initiate the login process directly from their IDP server, providing greater flexibility and a streamlined authentication flow.
- Integrate Detect license entitlement
- The license entitlement for Unica Detect is now fully integrated with the Unica Platform. This integration allows you to monitor usage metrics directly from the platform's License Details page and through the daily usage report, providing a transparent view of your entitlements.
New features in 25.1.0
- My HCL Software (MHS)
- A new license portal My HCL Software (MHS) is introduced in current release. This provides both Software distribution and management of your Software entitlements purchased from HCL Software.
- News updates on Login page
- Login page and announcement page has a news carousel showing the latest news items. Announcements (When user is logged in), they have a announcement icon (top navigation), user can click on it and it will show the popup with the news items. On clicking the link for learn more, the article will open in new tab.
- Favourites
- To increased productivity by removing redundancy, Favourites now include two
options: Default & Custom (user defined):
- Default Favourites: Default Favourites will be a part of default product which would be available to users by default when they login to Unica for the first time.
- Custom (User Defined) Favourites: Users will be able to define their own favourites by navigating to any page and mark it as favourite. User will have capability to name / rename them and also able to delete them.
- Marketing Insights
- Unica user will be able to access quick insight in form of Dashboard when they login into the platform. This dashboard would provide them insights to make quick decision on their next steps after login into Unica platform.
- Analytical support with Superset
- Superset is a modern data exploration and data visualization platform.It is open source and has extensive charting support. The charts that are rendered provide a detailed analytics for easy to understand.The added MaxAI support on charts adds AI capabilities providing decision making capabilities to Marketer.
- Streamline of the navigation (left navigation)
- We have an updated Navigation menu with clear visibility of all the products installed. This helps user navigate seamlessly around Unica applications.
- Enhancement in top level search
- The search feature displays results in a dropdown below the search bar, covering visited pages, products, items, links, and applications. Items appear in a Recent Search section with clickable chips for quick navigation. Document search has been removed from the functionality. Multilingual synonym support is available exclusively for Applications in search.
- Dashboard custom report

Starting from version 25.1, the default home page has been updated. The legacy Dashboard page is now deprecated and is no longer available by default.
Users who wish to continue using the legacy Dashboard can do so by updating their user preferences. To use the old dashboard from 25.1 version for a particular user. Navigate to Settings → Users → Click on the username → Click on Edit preferences → Click on Unica Platform in left side panel → Choose Unica UI Experience to Classic.
Campaign Analytics:
If user wants to switch from Superset report to BIRT report then in the configuration settings:
Reports → Integrations → Superset → Enabled flag should be False for Superset.
Unica Insights → Navigation → Enabled flag should be set to True for BIRT report.
