Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. Deliver integrates with Unica Campaign and with secure message composition, transmission, and tracking resources that are hosted by Unica.
The Deliver Message Editor
Digital marketers construct email, landing pages, WhatsApp messages, and text messages in Unica Deliver in the Deliver Message Editor. Marketers without specific HTML editing experience can create valid, full-featured HTML email and landing pages with the editing and personalization tools in the Message Editor.

The Deliver Message Editor provides several ways to add links to personalized email messages, and landing pages that are hosted by Unica. Apply link attributes and inline styles to control how the links appear and how the target of the links display. Deliver tracks link clicks and stores the data in the Deliver system tables.

  If you install and enable Unica Deliver within Campaign, then you can create a list that defines the recipients for a personalized messaging campaign.   - Accessing the Deliver Message Editor
    You can access the Message Editor from the Campaign menu or from a link on the Mailing tab for a Deliver messaging.

    The Message Editor provides access to various functions through a context-sensitive toolbar that is displayed across the top of the content or communication page. The appearance of the toolbar varies depending on the task you are performing.

When you use multiple content variations in a communication, you can view and edit the different variations directly in the communication editor.

    As an alternative to manually dropping content into zones, you can add video, PDFs, images and snippets automatically by adding a reference to them in a communication template.

    You can connect email and landing pages that you create in Deliver to content that is stored outside of your HCL Unica installation. Create the connections in zones with the Content Connector widget or embed the connections in HTML templates or HTML snippets.

    Because it is likely that multiple users will access the Message Editor, it is important to consider how you organize the communications, content elements, and saved searches that it contains.
  - Recycle Bin
    When you delete a communication, asset, or folder, the Communication Editor moves the deleted items to the Recycle Bin. You can restore the deleted items if necessary. The Communications Editor maintains a separate Recycle Bin on the Communications tab and on the Content Library tab.

    You can search the Message Editor to find communications or content elements that contain a particular word or combination of characters. For example, you can find all of the ZIP files that have been uploaded to the Content Library by searching for the characters .zip

The design of the template guides the design of the message. To create personalized email, marketers add content to the template by modifying the template or by using editing tools that are provided in the Message Editor.

      Add links for up to five social networks in an email communication. You can add only one set of social share links in a single communication. Use the Share widget to configure the links.
    - Adding a Forward to a Friend link to email messages
      You can add Forward to a Friend links to any zone in an email communication, embed the link in the HTML template, or add the link to an HTML snippet that you add to the message. The Forward to a Friend link appears as a trackable link in the email message. You can configure how the link appears in the email and how the link opens when the recipient clicks the link. You can also edit the form that email recipients use to forward the message and the confirmation page that displays when the system accepts the forwarding addresses.
    - Short links
      Short links are concise placeholders that replace full length hyperlinks in message formats that limit how many characters you can use in a message. Each short links consists of a short link domain and a unique link identifier.
    - About identifying links for Deliver reports
      Deliver describes link tracking results in the Detailed Link and Detailed Link by Cell reports. The reports use specific HTML link attributes to distinguish each link in the message. The attribute that the reports use depends on whether the link displays as text or an image, and whether the link attributes are unique. To identify links in reports, ensure that the attributes that the reports use to distinguish links are unique for each link in the message.
  - Previewing email and landing pages
    Use the Preview feature in the Message Editor to see how a personalized message might appear to message recipients. Preview simulates how personalized parts of the Deliver document used to create the email, landing page, SMS, WhatsApp may change according to the personal characteristics of each recipient.
  - Publishing email and landing pages
    Publishing the communication in the Deliver Message Editor makes the communication and the resources it contains available for use in a personalized message or landing page. Publishing a communication does not transmit the communication to message recipients or landing page visitors. However, to send a message through Deliver, you must first publish the message in the Message Editor.

    Personalization fields provide the means to add recipient-specific information from your marketing database to a SMS, email, WhatsApp, push notifications . Personalization fields are also used in rules that control how conditionalized content displays in each personalized message.

    Creating conditional content allows you to vary the content that you display to your target audience according to characteristics defined in personalization fields. In Unica Deliver, you can define two types of conditional content. Simple conditional content, which uses personalization fields in personalization rules, and nested conditional content, which uses personalization fields in Deliver advanced scripting for email.

Embedding links into HTML templates and snippets

To embed a hyperlink into an HTML template or HTML snippet, enter the link directly into the HTML code. Use inline styles to specify link appearance and behavior.

Procedure

Open the template or snippet in a text or HTML editor. You can use the embedded HTML editor in the Message Editor.
Use an anchor <a> tag to insert a hyperlink. Define the value for the href attribute. Enter the full URL for the target of the link. You must include the http:// or https:// prefix.
In the <a> tag, define attributes that control how the link appears and where the target of the link appears. Typical attributes include the following:

title provides a mouseover for the link.

target specifies where to display the target of the link

style controls how the link displays in the message or landing page
Specify the body of the link.
- For a text link, enter the text as you want it to appear in the message or landing page.
- For a link that displays as an image, configure an <img> tag.
  For example, <a href="http://www.example.com/offers"><img src=http://www.example.com/images/image1.jpg" alt="example"></a>
Save the changes in the editor.

What to do next

To test the appearance and behavior of the link, open a communication in the Message Editor that contains the template or snippet.

Click Preview in the Message Editor toolbar to preview the communication and the link.
