Enabling HCL Traveler using a 64-bit JVM
HCL Traveler uses 32-bit JVM, by default. You can enable it to use 64-bit instead.
Domino 14.5 uses Java 17 64-bit only. See the Domino 14.5 for IBM i Software Requirements. Below instructions are for Traveler on Domino 14.0 and previous Domino versions.
Ensure that IBM® Developer Kit for Java™ V8 64-bit is installed and that the configuration also enables all other Domino® jobs using 64-bit JVM.
To enable Traveler to use 64-bit JVM, set
JavaUse64BitJVM to the following value
in Notes.ini: JavaUse64BitJVM=1Note: IBM i uses the JVM at the OS level. You should upgrade the system JVM to the latest Java
Group PTF on IBM i system from IBM i Support PSP - Group PTFs.
Note: An IBM PMR with Java 8.0 SR6 FP20 with 64-bit enabled causes intermittent Traveler crashes.
Any previous or later Java 8.0 SR6 FP can be used.
