How do I access mail and customize how it displays in my Inbox on an Android device?

You can access your mail messages by choosing the Mail icon in the application launcher.

The default view for Android phones shows your Inbox sorted by date, with the newest messages displaying first. You cannot change the sort order. To view the contents of different folders, select the Home icon to open the navigation drawer. Alternatively, you can swipe in from the left to open the navigation drawer.

Depending on the available space on the screen, you may be presented with a one- or two-column view. In the two-column view, the list of messages displays on the left and the currently selected message displays on the right.

You can search your mail by selecting the search icon . Searches look in sender, recipients, subject and body fields. By default searches from the Inbox folder are global and will locate results in all folders excluding Sent and Trash. Searches in all other folders will default to folder specific searches - only including results from the folder you are in. To restrict searches from the Inbox to only the Inbox folder, search on the word Inbox and then select the folder from the list of results. Tap the search icon again and the Inbox search filter appears showing that searches at the time will only return results from the Inbox folder. Tapping the X on the Inbox folder filter bubble will remove the filter and return you to a global search.

You can filter your mail by selecting the filter icon to show the filter bar:

Tapping on a filter enables that filter. You can tap on more than one icon to combine filters. To hide the filter bar and disable filters, tap the filter icon.

You can further customize how HCL Verse displays via Settings. Open the navigation drawer by clicking its icon or swiping in from the left. Select Settings.
