Resetting users and devices
Information on commands that reset users and devices.
Delete user versus Reset user
These two commands perform close to the same function. They should be used as a last resort to resolve user issues with HCL Traveler. Both commands cause devices to retrieve all of the HCL Traveler data again, but Delete also deletes all of the user's preference information. If a forced reset of the user data is needed, use the Reset command. Both commands can be made available using the HCL Traveler servlet.
For an Apple device user, the commands may also require that the user re-enable automatic push for mail messages by selecting Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data and toggling Push to OFF and then back to ON. In addition, for Apple devices running iOS 3 through iOS6, you must remove the account from the device, run Delete or Reset, and reinstall the account. Otherwise, errors may occur, especially with trying to move mail into folders on the device.
Reset is available in the web-based admin, Delete is not.
