Theoretical device capacity
There is no hard and fast statement when it comes to device capacity. It takes work to estimate and understand your user base, plan and set up the appropriate environments, then monitor to see how you are doing.
Each and every environment will have different theoretical device limits depending on the hardware, network, geography, type and number of users. It’s important to monitor the systems to understand if your environments are below, at, or above capacity.
As a baseline only, the following best practice recommendations are provided. These
recommendations are based on the hardware recommendations made in other topics and assumes all users
are average mobile users.
Standalone Traveler server | Single Traveler HA server | Traveler HA pool1 | |
---|---|---|---|
Maximum number of devices | 500 | 4500 | 18000 |
1Maximum of 5 Traveler HA Servers per pool. The limit of 18000 for a 5 server pool factors in allowing one server to be down such that 4 servers can each handle a maximum of 4500 devices.
