How do I improve mail performance?

Performance options are available to improve performance if you find that messages are slow to open or inbox scrolling is slow.

  1. Select Settings > Other Settings > Performance.
  2. Use one or both of the following options:

    Option Description
    Display Contact Photos If Inbox box scrolling is slow, turn off this option to improve performance by disabling the display of photos in your emails.
    Mail Optimization If mail box scrolling is slow or mail is slow to open, tap this option to improve performance. When prompted, select Optimize Mail. After you do, a check mark is shown next to this option, meaning that optimization is pending and will be done the next time you restart HCL Verse.
    Tip:
    To restart Verse:
    • On iPhone X or later or an iPad with iOS 12, from the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen.
    • On an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to show your most recently used apps. Locate the Verse preview and then swipe up to close the app.
