Native-PPP connections
You can connect to the SafeLinx Server from any dial-in device that supports the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), as defined in RFC 1661. The use of PPP connections applies to mobile access services for SafeLinx Clients only.
With native-PPP connections, you do not receive the benefit of encryption or compression. But, your device can be declared and managed as a mobile device and your account transactions are logged.
Make sure that native-PPP clients do not enable compression or encryption before they connect to the SafeLinx Server. The SafeLinx Server provides data optimization, such as filtering and preventing the retransmission of data. To authenticate native-PPP clients, the SafeLinx Server uses password authentication protocol (PAP) or Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP).
