Locating the logging properties files
When you install HCL OneTest™ API, HCL OneTest™ API Agent, or HCL® Quality Server including the HTTP/TCP proxy, several logging properties files are added to each installation's home directory.
HCL OneTest™ API
- When you run tests from the HCL OneTest™ API GUI.
- When you run tests by using
RunTests
from the command line. - When you start HCL OneTest™ API from the
command line with the
-console
option.
HCL® Quality Server and the HTTP/TCP Proxy
The proxy-logging.properties file is located at the httptcp folder under the HCL® Quality Server home installation directory. This file controls the logging for the HTTP/TCP proxy. There is no console to view the logs for the proxy, but you can run the proxy from the command line if needed, and use console logging to view the log messages in the command window.
HCL OneTest™ API Agent
The agent-logging.properties and
it-logging.properties files are located at the home installation
directory of HCL OneTest™ API
Agent. The
agent-logging.properties file controls the logging for both the agent
process and any engine processes it starts, and the it-logging.properties
file controls the logging for tests that are run by using RunTests
from the
agent command line.
RQMAgent
The RQMAgent provided by HCL OneTest™ API uses the rqmagent-logging.properties file to control logging for tests started from Rational® Quality Manager. This file is located at the home installation directory of HCL OneTest™ API.
