Extending HCL OneDB™Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL OneDB™ can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. HCL OneDB™ includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. HCL OneDB™ also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for HCL OneDB™.

Excalibur text search typesThe module supports various searches, such as keyword, Boolean, proximity, pattern (or fuzzy), and phrase. Phrase searching can be classified into two types: exact and approximate.
Wildcard cluesThe WILDCARD_CLUE query parameter enables you to use an * at the beginning or end of your clue words, and instructs the search engine to treat the * as a wildcard character that will match any string of characters.

The WILDCARD_CLUE query parameter enables you to use an * at the beginning or end of your clue words, and instructs the search engine to treat the * as a wildcard character that will match any string of characters.

For example, the clue edit* in the following query finds documents containing any word that starts with the string edit, such as editor, editing, edits, edition, and so on.
