Extending HCL OneDB™Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL OneDB™ can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. HCL OneDB™ includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. HCL OneDB™ also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for HCL OneDB™.
Creating extensionsYou can create user-defined data types, routines, access methods, and other database objects to suit your needs. You can use application programming interfaces to write user-defined routines and applications that access data in HCL OneDB™ databases.

You can add entries to the Windows™ registry for the initialization and configuration of your DataBlade® module and its associated programs.

The following table lists the properties you define when adding registry changes.

Property	Description
Registry hive	The standard primary registry keys under which you want to add a key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT HKEY_CURRENT_USER HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Registry path	The key you want to add, expressed as a path.
Key name	The name of the key.
Key value	The value of the key.
Component	The component, subcomponent, or shared component to which the file or directory is assigned. See Assigning items to components for more information about assigning to components.

To add registry changes:

Choose Edit > Insert > Change to Registry.
Complete the Registry Changes Details page in the item view.
