Free a logical-log file
If a log file is newly added (status A), it is immediately available for use. It also can be dropped immediately.
You might want to free
a logical-log file for the following reasons:
- So that the database server does not stop processing
- To free the space used by deleted blobpages
The procedures for freeing log files
vary, depending on the status of the log file. Each procedure is described
in the following topics. To find out the status of logical-log files,
see Status flags of logical-log files and Monitor logging activity.
Tip: For
information using ON-Bar or ontape to
back up storage spaces and logical logs, see the HCL OneDB™ Backup and
Restore Guide.
