Client requirements

Make sure that your computer complies with the system requirements to use HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook. In addition, make sure that you set required settings in Microsoft™ Outlook and HCL Notes®.

System requirements

One of the following versions of Microsoft Outlook and a Microsoft Windows x86 release that supports it:
  • Microsoft™ Outlook 2013 (32-bit or 64-bit), with the latest Microsoft Office service pack.
  • Microsoft™ Outlook 2016 (32-bit or 64-bit), with the latest Microsoft Office service pack.
  • Microsoft™ Outlook 2019 (32-bit or 64-bit), with the latest Microsoft Office service pack.
  • Microsoft™ Outlook 2021 (32-bit or 64-bit), with the latest Microsoft Office service pack.
  • Microsoft™ Outlook for Microsoft 365, with the latest service pack.
    Note: The web interface of Office365 is not supported. HCL supports the installed version of Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365.

HCL Notes® required settings

The following table describes the Notes® settings that are required for correct operation of HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook.

Notes Setting
File > Preferences > Calendar and To Do > Display > Views:
  • Display new (unprocessed) notices: Enabled
  • Process cancelled meetings automatically: Enabled with Show as cancelled in calendar option enabled.
File > Preferences > Calendar and To Do > Display > Notices:
  • Display the following meeting notices in my Inbox: All (or All except responses)
  • Remove meeting notices from my Inbox after I process them: Enabled
  • Automatically process meeting updates and apply changes to meetings: Enabled
File > Preferences > Mail > Internet > Format for Internet-Style Reply or Forward - Internet mail format:
HTML only or HTML and Plain Text
Note: If this parameter is set to Plain Text only, certain inline images in mail messages that are sent from Notes® might appear as file attachments in Microsoft™ Outlook.
