Master Key File (MKF) Generation
A new Master Key File (MKF) should be generated before encryption actually takes place. This MKF file can be utilized across other Link installations. To maintain the integrity of the encryption process, the MKF file should be treated as confidential and protected from unauthorized access.
The ITXCryptoTool is a Java-based utility for creating a new MKF file from the command line. The new key within the MKF file can in turn be merged with other MKF files for cross platform encryption and decryption purposes.
For general help and guidelines on generating a new MKF file, execute the following
command on the Windows command line after running the DTXCommon.bat
script:
%JRE% -cp "%DTXHOME%\ITXCryptoTool.jar";"%DTXHOME%\dtxpi.jar" ITXCryptoTool -h
