As the following table shows, the location of the connection information depends on the operating system.

UNIX™ The INFORMIXSQLHOSTS environment variable specifies the full path name and file name of the connection information. The default location is $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts. For information about INFORMIXSQLHOSTS, see the HCL® Informix® Guide to SQL: Reference.
Windows™ The connectivity information is in a key in the Windows™ registry called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Informix\SQLHOSTS.
