Use this documentation to install the HCL Domino® server and subsequently deploy the HCL Notes®client.
Downloading, distributing, and installing software using AutoUpdate
AutoUpdate notifies you of the latest HCL Domino and Domino product family available on the Domino server, and allows you to download the software. You can also use it to distribute, and optionally, install, software to groups or selected Domino servers.
Changing the download server
Use these steps to change the download server which connects to the My HCLSoftware Portal.

Installing
Use this documentation to install the HCL Domino® server and subsequently deploy the HCL Notes®client.
- Installing and upgrading Domino® servers
  Perform a new or upgrade install of one or many Domino® servers.

  AutoUpdate notifies you of the latest HCL Domino and Domino product family available on the Domino server, and allows you to download the software. You can also use it to distribute, and optionally, install, software to groups or selected Domino servers.

On Windows, the AutoInstall executable is named autoinstall.exe, and on Linux it is autoinstall.

  Use this documentation to upgrade the existing Domino® server and subsequently upgrade the Notes® client to a new release. You can also upgrade additional clients such as Domino Administrator and Domino Designer clients and additional features and plug-ins such as the embedded HCL Sametime® client.

Changing the download server

Use these steps to change the download server which connects to the My HCLSoftware Portal.

About this task

Open autoupdate.nsf on the current download server.
Create a replica of autoupdate.nsf on the new download server. Note that this may take an extended period of time, depending on how many software downloads are stored in autoupdate.nsf.
Close autoupdate.nsf on the current download server, and open it on the new download server.
Open the database ACL.
Ensure that either LocalDomainServers has the Administrator role enabled, or there is an entry for the new download server which has the Administrator role enabled.
Open the names.nsf on an administrative server.
Click Actions > Edit Directory Profile, then click on the Product Updates tab.
Change the value of the "Download Server" field to the new download server and save the document.
Replicate the changes to the current and new download servers.
On both servers, issue the console command: restart task autoupdate
