, the mail messages appear to be from other valid users. Next, the workload sets the preferences, reads five messages from the newly populated inbox, and replies to all five by setting a random name as the sender from the range of valid users in the Domino® Directory.

The R5IMAP Initialization workload creates and populates the IMAP mail file with SMTP messages, initializes the mail file, and then converts it to IMAP.
- R5IMAP workload
The R5IMAP workload models an active IMAP mail user logging in once, then receiving and sending mail. The script contains an average of 15 minutes of waiting, so an average user will execute this test no more than four times an hour. For each iteration of the script, IMAP mail messages are retrieved, one SMTP message is sent, and a number of LDAP lookup requests are executed based on the value of the NumMessageRecipients script variable. The SMTP messages sent by each test user are delivered to the mail databases of other test users on the SUT.
- R6IMAP Initialization workload
The R6IMAP Initialization workload opens a mail database on the server and populates the mail database. The template that is used to create the mail databases should be specified in the NOTES.INI variable MailTemplate.

The R6IMAP workload executes Domino® transactions that model a server for mail users at sites that rely on IMAP mail for communication. Not only does this test stress the IMAP protocol by receiving mail messages, but also exercises SMTP and LDAP by sending SMTP messages to a number of recipients and performing LDAP lookups on those recipients.

The R6Mail Routing workload models an active user on a client reading and sending mail, using the calendar and scheduling features to schedule an appointment, send an invitation, and send an RSVP to an invitation.
- N8Mail Initialization workload
Use the N8Mail Initialization workload to prepare for the N8Mail workload and the N7Mail workload. This workload creates the mail databases needed to run both workloads.

The N8Mail and N7Mail workloads model an active user on a Notes® 8 client and Notes® 7 client respectively, acting on a Domino® 8 server performing the same set of calendaring and mail operations. An average user will run this script four times per hour.

The SMTP and POP3 workload models an active user receiving and sending mail over SMTP and POP3. The script contains an average of 10 minutes of waiting, so an average user will run this test no more than six times an hour.

- Idle workload
The Idle workload establishes the highest number of sessions that a Domino® server can support. The test establishes sessions only between a client and server; no Notes® transactions are carried out. No resources other than those required to start a session are used.
- R5 Shared Database workload
The R5 Shared Database workload models active users performing shared database operations that include performing view operations, navigating unread documents, reading documents, and adding or updating documents in a shared database.
- Web Idle workload
The Web Idle workload models a Web browser user accessing the home page on the SUT. The script contains a one-minute wait, so an average user runs this script approximately 60 times an hour.

- Workload Data Collection and Workload Data Rollup scripts
The Server.Load Workload Data Rollup feature is adapted from the NotesBench data rollup feature and allows test data from a group of test drivers and an SUT to be combined into a single data file for analysis. While a workload runs, the Workload Data Collection custom script, SHSTAT.SCR, collects performance data from the SUT. When the workload is complete, the Workload Data Rollup script rolls up the performance data.
