Tell Notes® users
how to obtain the widget or inform them they will be automatically
provisioned with the widget, and the feature it is designed to deploy,
upon their next catalog update.
Procedure
- Install the widget from the catalog.
If
using policies:
- Click from your My Widgets sidebar panel
options menu.
- Allow the local catalog to be updated/replicated on its regular
schedule and be aware that the new widget will be added and the feature
it is designed to deploy will be installed, when the local catalog
is updated.
If not using policies:
- Click from your My Widgets sidebar panel
options menu. Click , select the category
in which the widget resides, and click Apply.
- Open the catalog (click Browse the Widget Catalog in
the My Widgets sidebar panel toolbar), highlight the widget, and drag
it to your My Widgets sidebar panel.
- Respond to any feature installation prompts that appear.
Note: When you install a new feature, you are prompted
to restart the client.
- Upon restart, note the addition of the FeatureABX widget
in the My Widgets sidebar panel and the feature called by that widget.
The widget catalog is checked for updates based on a replication
schedule. Adding or removing a category in the Widgets preference
panel adds or removes widgets on the client in or from that category.
Any features called by a widget in a category to which a user is subscribed
are installed on that user's client system.
