Renaming an iNotes user
You rename an IBM® iNotes® user who has an iNotes ID and an IBM Notes® certified public key located in their person document in the Domino® Directory the same way you rename a Notes user.
About this task
In iNotes, however, after a rename has been initiated, users must access their Notes IDs to complete the process. Depending on whether the user's mail file has an imported copy of their Notes ID, users can do one of two things to access their Notes ID, which will then complete the rename process:
- User mail file has an imported copy of a Notes ID -- If the user's iNotes mail file contains an imported copy of their Notes ID, the user can either decrypt an encrypted message, or send an encrypted message to complete the rename process.
- User mail file does not have an imported copy of a Notes ID -- If the user's iNotes mail file does not contain an imported copy of their Notes ID, the user can either import one, which is required for using iNotes secure mail features, or the user can access the Notes ID using an Notes client.
