Configuring
Use this information to configure an IBM® Domino® network, users, servers (including Web servers), directory services, security, messaging, widgets and live text, and server clusters. Also use this information to set up IBM iNotes® on a server using Domino Off-Line Services (DOLS).
Editing the NOTES.INI file
You should rarely, if ever, need to modify a server's or client's NOTES.INI file. The NOTES.INI file contains many settings that Domino® and Notes® rely on to work properly. An accidental or incorrect change may cause Domino or Notes to run unpredictably. Therefore, you should edit the NOTES.INI file only if special circumstances occur or if IBM® Support Services recommends that you do so.
NOTES.INI Settings
The NOTES.INI settings described here can be set in the Configuration document of the Domino® server.
PhoneLog
Specifies whether phone calls are written to the Notes® log.

PhoneLog

Specifies whether phone calls are written to the Notes® log.

Syntax: PhoneLog=value

Description:Options for value are:

0 - Does not log phone calls to the Notes log file.
1 - Logs all calls except those that fail because of a busy signal.
2 - Logs phone calls to the Notes log file.

Note: Support for direct dialup modem (X.PC) connections is available only in releases of Domino® earlier than release 8.5. You may continue to use Domino Administrator 8.5 to configure and maintain direct dialup modem support, but only on servers running releases earlier than 8.5.

UI equivalent: None, although you can specify this setting in the NOTES.INI Settings tab of the Configuration Settings document in the Domino Directory.
