Using IBM Sametime in the Domino domain monitor database

You can initiate an IBM® Sametime® chat with another DDM administrator from the Domino® Domain Monitor (DDM) user interface.

About this task

Locate the Show Administrators feature located on the navigation pane of the DDM user interface. Use the Show Administrators feature to locate the name of the administrator with whom you want to initiate a Sametime chat.

If the field IBM Sametime Server on the Server tab of the Location document contains a Sametime server name, the option Show Admin List is visible in the DDM user interface. If the IBM Sametime Server field is blank, the Show Administrators feature is not operational. The list of administrator names that displays is derived from the fields Full Access Administrators and Administrators on the Security tab of the Server document.

Note: If the fields Full Access Administrators and Administrators on the Security tab of the Server document are updated, the Sametime list in the DDM user interface is not automatically updated. To refresh the list, restart the Event task on the Domino server.

To hide the list of administrators with whom you can initiate a chat, when the list is expanded, click Hide Administrators.

The instant messaging pane in DDM.NSF on a collecting server contains an option allowing you to specify which server's list of administrators you want to access. On all other servers, that is, non-collecting servers, the instant messaging pane displays the Administrator list for that server only. The collecting server contains the rolled-up data from other servers in the domain.
