Using the IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT directory
The IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT database contains data that has been collected using the Domino® Configuration Collector and the Automatic Diagnostic Data Collection tool. It also includes system information files and documents that have been exported from the Domino® Directory and saved as .dxl documents using the Save command entered at the Domino® server console.
System information files are automatically generated each time Domino® starts when Domino® issues a Notes® System Diagnostics (NSD) command. Domino® collects a variety of information about the system configuration, as opposed to the configuration collector which collects information about the Domino® server configuration. Information such as available memory, available disk space, operating system version, and other related data is collected to determine what has changed when the server begins to have problems. Files are saved using a standard file name convention of
type_platform_systemname_date@time.log
For example, sysinfo_W32I_SystemA_06_11@17_25.log
Disable_SaveNSDConfig=value
. Periodically
review the size of the IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT database to prevent it
from using excessive disk space. By default, Domino® stores a maximum of ten of each file
type. Use the NOTES.INI setting MAX_CONFIG_FILES
to
change the number of files saved for each type of document. If you
reduce the number of files that can be stored, the appropriate number
of each type of file is deleted. The NOTES.INI setting
is checked each time the server starts, or whenever there is a configuration
change. To modify only the number of NSD files saved in IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT
database, use the NOTES.INI setting MAX_NSDINFO_FILES
.
If this setting exists in the NOTES.INI file,
it will be used to control the number of NSD files instead of using MAX_CONFIG_FILES
.
To
disable the automatic collection of data from the Domino® server, use the NOTES.INI setting DISABLE_SAVESERVERCONFIG
.
To
enable or disable only the collection of NSD information, use the NOTES.INI setting DISABLE_SAVENSDCONFIG
.
If
the value DISABLE_SAVENSDCONFIG
exists, it is honored;
otherwise, the value DISABLE_SAVESERVERCONFIG
is
honored.
This table shows when NSD is enabled and when the NOTES.INI settings are honored:
