Registering data sources for ODBC
About this task
Before your Domino® Designer application can access data in a relational database, you must register a data source that tells the ODBC driver manager how to locate the data. Registering a data source ties a specific ODBC driver with the data to be accessed. The registration information includes the data you want to access, its associated server or directory, the back-end DBMS, and the network platform. To register this information in a registration file (ODBC.INI in Windows™ 95), you use the Windows™ Control Panel, a utility such as the Windows™ ODBC Administrator Utility, or a script or formula.
