Designing single copy XPages

You can store XPage design elements in one database and redirect other databases there at run-time.

About this task

Single copy XPages enhance performance by using one location for object storage and browser access. The affected design elements are XPages, custom controls, JavaScript™ libraries, style sheets, and themes. To direct database to use a repository for its XPage elements at run-time:

Procedure

In the left pane, select Application Properties.
In the top center pane, select the XPages tab.
Scroll down to Performance.
Check Single copy XPage design.
Specify the name of the NSF containing the XPages design elements. A relative name is relative to the Notes® data directory.

Results

The application containing the design elements must be an NSF file.

All XPages design elements must be in the repository or not. You cannot override or select design elements individually.

You cannot change the single copy setting dynamically.

The shared elements are restricted to the XPages elements just enumerated. Forms and views, for example, are not shared.
