What to do next

Finally, to create Application Icons for your application, you can choose a PNG, GIF, JPEG, or BMP image file for better quality images OR still use the familiar 16 color icon editor.

To handle the additional image file support, Domino® Designer provides a single editor that centralizes management of the application icons. If you expand the Resources category in a database in the Application Navigator, you will see the Icon design element. The icon editor for this design element contains two sections: one for adding enhanced application image files as an icon titled Application Icon, and another for the classic application (16 color) icons titled Classic Application Icon.

To add an enhanced image file to your application, press the Browse button in the Application Icon section and select an image of type PNG, JPG, GIF, or BMP. The only restrictions on the image is that it cannot be larger than 32 x 32 pixels in size. Also, if you provide a BMP, its color density should be 24 bits per pixel so it can be properly translated to a .GIF file.

For older application icons (i.e., 16 colors), the classic application icon editor is available from the Classic Application Icon section. This may be totally sufficient for some applications. It will be the icon that is shown if the application is opened with a client older than 8.5.2. Press the Open Icon Editor button to open the familiar 16 color icon editor.
