They contain access information for specific databases and users. When you create an activity, you make connection choices from your set of defined connections.

      - Connector for OLE DB Operational Considerations
        Below are some important considerations when using the Connector for OLE DB with the Microsoft™ SQL server:
      - Calling SQL Server Stored Procedures
        Wherever procedures are allowed, you can use a Microsoft™ SQL server stored procedure such as the destination of a Direct Transfer or within an LC LSX script. The stored procedure being called must have its parameters set up correctly for the call.
      - Using Stored Procedures to Approximate Output Parameters
        While the Connector for OLE DB does not support output parameters, stored procedures can be used to generate a result set approximating output parameter functionality. This can be an effective way of accessing database-generated information when inserting or updating records. However, the Connector for OLE DB can only retrieve one result set from a stored procedure and it is possible for many result sets to be generated.

  - LSX for Connectors
    LotusScript® Extensions for Connectors (LC LSX) enhances the power of Notes® by extending its scripting to data outside of Notes through the use of Connectors. The programming model is independent of the individual connector. This eliminates the need to learn each individual system, while at the same time allowing experienced users to access the individual features of a specific system.
  - Accessing external databases through LS:DO
    Developers are advised not to use LS:DO. Developers should use the Connector LSX for (LCLSX) when accessing external data sources.
