Configuring DevOps Velocity
A default HCL DevOps Velocity (Velocity) administrator ID is included as part of Velocity. It is used to install and complete initial configuration tasks.

The HCL DevOps Velocity (Velocity) security model is organization- and team-based. The organization is the base element; teams belong to organizations. Team members manage releases, events, and deployments. Administrators manage teams and assign users to them.

  To get started with HCL DevOps Velocity (Velocity), you must install it on any one of the container platforms. You can find information about the selection of a container platform, installation methods, and procedure for installing Velocity.

Glossary

Managing users

Use the Users page to create, edit, or remove users.

About this task

This task requires that you are an HCL DevOps Velocity (Velocity) administrator.

Users can be created, edited, or removed from Authorization on the Settings page.

To create a user, complete the following steps:

Procedure

Click Settings > Authorization > Users > Create user to display the Create user window.
Complete the required fields.
Click Save.

What to do next

To modify or remove a user, click Settings > Authorization > Users and perform the following steps.

To modify a user:
- Click the overflow menu and select Edit for the required user.
- Change the required fields in the Edit user window.
- Click Save.
To remove a user, click the overflow menu and select Delete for the required user.
Note: Users are deleted from all teams and groups. Users’ access keys are also deleted. You can use a deleted user email address to create a new user. The new user is created with default permissions. The user cannot retain previous roles and permissions after deletion.
