License management
Licensing for HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) is administered through My HCLSoftware (MHS). MHS is a cloud-based web application that helps to manage software entitlements and licenses.
License description
You require floating seat licenses to use HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI). If you want to run AFT Suites or parallel execution of tests on more than 5 channels, you require execution licenses.

    You require floating seat licenses to use HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI). If you want to run AFT Suites or parallel execution of tests on more than 5 channels, you require execution licenses.

License description

You require floating seat licenses to use HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI). If you want to run AFT Suites or parallel execution of tests on more than 5 channels, you require execution licenses.

When you place an order for a software application, the HCL License Fulfillment team acknowledges the order and creates a software entitlement for you. Every deployment is associated with a server ID (also known as deployment ID). You can then create a license server deployment in My HCLSoftware (MHS), and map licenses to the deployment. You must note down the server ID or deployment ID, which is applied to the product. The team can create multiple software entitlements based on your requirements.

Note: If you use the Local License Server, you must also map the software entitlements with the Local License Server.

You can use any of the following licenses according to your requirements:

Floating seat license to use HCL DevOps Test UI

To use HCL DevOps Test UI, you require a floating seat license or you can also use a HCL DevOps Test Workbench floating license. A floating seat license is in the checked-out state when you use HCL DevOps Test UI, and the license is in the checked-in state in MHS when the license is not used for 15 minutes. Multiple users can use HCL DevOps Test UI by using floating seat licenses. However, the total number of concurrent users cannot exceed the number of floating licenses that you purchase.
Floating license to run AFT Suites/tests

To run AFT Suites or parallel execution of tests on more than 5 channels, you require execution floating licenses or Virtual Users (VUs).

The execution floating licenses are different from the floating seat licenses, but both the licenses work in a similar manner. A number of floating licenses are in the checked-out state when you start the test run, and the license is in the checked-in state in the MHS within 15 minutes of the completion of test run. You can reuse execution floating licenses for an infinite number of times until the license expiration date.
