  - Running a test on multiple browsers and devices simultaneously
    Rather than run a Web UI test on one browser at a time, you can run a single Web UI test on multiple browsers simultaneously. Doing so can significantly speed up your test effort. You can also extend your test coverage by adding mobile devices to the test run. You can run the test from HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI), from the command line, or from Engineering Test Management. This topic describes how to run a test from the UI Test perspective.
  - Setting a global delay for test steps
    You can set the duration of a global delay in milliseconds between all the steps instead of adding the wait time manually for each of the steps in a recorded test. You can specify this global delay as a preference for the playback of Web UI, Windows, or mobile tests.

    When you need to run Web UI, mobile, and windows tests using the command line without opening the desktop client to run these tests, you can use the command line of HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI).

Running Web UI tests as an AFT Suite on LambdaTest Cloud

After you create an AFT Suite for Web UI tests, you can run the AFT Suite on devices connected to LambdaTest Cloud to accelerate the test efforts.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

Created an AFT Suite with Web UI tests to run on LambdaTest Cloud. See Creating an AFT Suite to run Web UI tests on LambdaTest Cloud.
Verified that the device you want to test is in the list of active devices. The list displays the devices that are in the Released state on LambdaTest Cloud at the time of selection for a test run.

Note: If you run an AFT suite that requires Test UI to open the same browser multiple times because of multiple Web UI tests, LambdaTest Cloud might allocate a different device of the selected model for each test run. This allocation depends on the available devices in the released state and might result in test runs on browsers of different versions.

Procedure

Open the UI Test perspective in Test UI if it is not already open.
Select the project that contains the AFT Suite in the Test Navigator pane.
The AFT Suite that you created for the Web UI tests is located in the Accelerated Functional Tests folder.
Expand the contents of the Accelerated Functional Tests folder to view the AFT XML that is displayed with the name you provided.
Right-click the XML file of the AFT Suite, and then click Run Distributed Tests.
The Run Accelerated Functional Test dialog is displayed.
Note: If you repeat the AFT Suite run because the previous run failed, the Re-run failed tests only from the last playback option is available for selection. When you select this option, the AFT Suite is run on the devices and location on which it previously failed.
Click OK.

Results

You have run the Web UI tests that are in an AFT Suite on devices connected to the cloud and the test result is displayed as a unified report in Test UI.
