Administrator Guide
This guide describes how to install HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) software. After you install the software, you can perform administration tasks such as license configuration and integration with other products. This guide is intended for administrators.
License management
Licensing for HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) is administered through My HCLSoftware (MHS). MHS is a cloud-based web application that helps to manage software entitlements and licenses.
License configuration
You must first apply a license to start using HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI).
Configuring licenses by using a Proxy Server
You can connect directly to HCL Cloud License Server (CLS) when you start HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) for the first time. As an alternative, you can configure Test UI to use a Proxy Server.

- Installation
  You can find information about the installation of HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI).
- License management
  Licensing for HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) is administered through My HCLSoftware (MHS). MHS is a cloud-based web application that helps to manage software entitlements and licenses.
  - License description
    You require floating seat licenses to use HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI). If you want to run AFT Suites or parallel execution of tests on more than 5 channels, you require execution licenses.
  - License configuration
    You must first apply a license to start using HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI).
    - Configuring licenses by using a cloud-based License Server
      You can apply the license by using HCL Cloud License Server (CLS) to use HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI).
    - Configuring licenses by using a Local License Server
      You might not be able to connect your computer to the internet due to certain restrictions. In such cases, you can configure HCL® Local License Server behind a firewall to use HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI).
    - Configuring licenses by using a Proxy Server
      You can connect directly to HCL Cloud License Server (CLS) when you start HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) for the first time. As an alternative, you can configure Test UI to use a Proxy Server.
  - Collecting usage metrics data
    To provide an insight into the usage patterns of the product itself and not necessarily the application that it is testing, the usage metrics are collected. The product can collect the metrics about the usage of the tool including and not limited to the number of tests executed, the number of actions performed against an application under test, the number of successful versus failed actions, verification points, and so on.

  You can start HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) from the desktop environment or a command-line interface.
- Software configuration management
  You can integrateHCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) with the software configuration management systems to maintain an auditable and repeatable history of your organization's test assets.

Configuring licenses by using a Proxy Server

You can connect directly to HCL Cloud License Server (CLS) when you start HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) for the first time. As an alternative, you can configure Test UI to use a Proxy Server.

Procedure

Open Test UI.
Click Windows > Preferences > Test > HCL Licensing.
Select the Use Proxy Server checkbox and specify the Host and Port of the Proxy Server.
Optional: Select the Provide Credentials checkbox and specify the User Name and Password if login credentials are required to access the Proxy Server.
Click Test Connection to verify the connection to the Proxy Server.
Click Apply to configure the license.

Results

You have configured the license to use Test UI. The HCL Licensing dialog displays the following information:

The number of Virtual Users (VUs)
The number of floating licenses
