Creating a properties file on Windows systems

To install the product in the silent mode, you must first create a properties file that contains the data required to install the product. Alternatively, you can generate the properties file by using the stand-alone installer.

About this task

You can create the properties file by using one of the following methods:

Generating the properties file by using the stand-alone installer. See steps 1 through 4.
Copying the contents of the sample properties file to your local properties file. See step 5.

Procedure

Download the product installer from the HCL® License & Delivery portal.

You must download the appropriate product variant, version, and architecture based on your requirements.

Note: When you want to install both Test UI and Test Performance on your computer, you can install the products by using a single shell-shared HCL DevOps Test UI and Test Performance package for the 64-bit platform that is available in the HCL® License & Delivery portal.
On the 32-bit platform, you must use separate packages of Test UI and Test Performance to install in the shell-shared mode by using Installation Manager.
Right-click the Command Prompt application and select Run as Administrator.
Run the following command to change the directory to a location where you downloaded the installer file:
```
cd <directory path>
```
For example, cd C:\users\Downloads
Run the following command to generate the properties file:
```
<installer_file.exe> -r <location of the installer.properties file>
```
For example, DevOps-Test-Performance-Windows-x64-v11.0.0.0 -r C:\users\Downloads\installer.properties

Create your properties file by copying the content of the following sample properties file:
