Creating logical UDP connections
In HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs (Test Integrations and APIs), tests and stubs reference the logical resources in a project, so you must create at least one logical UDP connection for each UDP transport that you want to use.
Before you begin
Ensure that there is at least one environment in your project. If there are no environments, you must create one.
Procedure
- Open the Logical View of the Architecture School perspective.
- On the toolbar of the Logical View, click .
The New UDP Connection window is displayed.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the connection.
- Click OK.
The New UDP Connection window is closed and the new logical UDP connection is displayed in the canvas of the Logical View.
- When a logical connection is created, a new physical resource is also created and bound in this environment. To view or edit this physical resource, right-click the new connection and click Physical Resource.
- Double-click the new logical UDP connection.
The UDP Connection window is displayed.
Alternatively, right-click the logical UDP connection and click Open in the pop-up menu.
- If you want to associate the new logical UDP connection
with a different logical resource, complete the following tasks:
- Optional: Click the Bindings tab.
Note: As an alternative to using the Bindings tab in the UDP Connection window, you can click in the menu bar to open the Environment Editor window and click the Bindings tab to modify the bindings of the selected environment.
- Optional: If you did not bind the UDP connection to a physical
UDP server resource, UNBOUND is displayed under Binding.
To bind the UDP connection, complete the following tasks:
- Optional: Click the Monitoring tab
if you want to add a log file for the new logical UDP connection.
The log file can be monitored during the execution of a test that involves the new logical UDP connection.
- Optional: Click the Documentation tab
if you want to enter additional information about the new logical
UDP connection.Note: Although you do not have to enter this additional information, it might help with the maintenance of the resources in your project or it might help future users of your project.
- Click OK.
Results
The new logical UDP connection is added to your project.
