Installing DevOps Test Integrations and APIs in the console mode on Linux
You can find information about installing HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs (Test Integrations and APIs) in the console mode on Linux by using the stand-alone installer.
Before you begin
- Read and ascertained that your computer meets the requirements specified in System Requirements for DevOps Test Integrations and APIs 2024.03 (11.0.1) or System Requirements for DevOps Test Virtualization 2024.03 (11.0.1) and Prerequisites for using the stand-alone installer for using the stand-alone installer.
- Uninstalled any previous version of this product. See Uninstalling the product software on Linux.
- Installed konsole on your computer.
Installing konsole enables the creation of a shortcut icon of the
product.Note: You can install konsole by entering the following command in the terminal: apt-get install konsole.
- Downloaded the product software package that is dependent on the stand-alone installer for the supported operating system on your computer from the HCL FlexNet Operations (FNO) portal.
- Configured the license server to manage licenses. See Setting up licenses for DevOps Test Integrations and APIs.
Procedure
- Open a terminal and log in as a root user.

Extract the
compressed file by entering the following command:
unzip <package_name>Note: For example, the name of the software package for Test Integrations and APIs can be as DevOps_Test_API_1101_Install_IA_LNX.zip.

Run the following command:
./DevOps-Test-API-Linux-x64-v11.0.1.bin -i console
The Introduction window of the stand-alone installer is displayed.

Optionally, select the language from the
drop-down list in which you want to install the product and use the
stand-alone installer.
The options of the languages in which you can install the product depends on the display language that is configured on your computer. You can install the product in any of the following languages that are supported:
- English
- French
- Japanese

Read through the details, and then click Next.
The License Agreement window is displayed.

Read the license agreement carefully, select the I accept
checkbox, and then click Next.
The Select Install Folder window is displayed.

Select the location to install by performing any of the following
actions:
- Select the default location that is displayed.
The default location is /opt/HCL/DevOpsTestAPI.
- Click Choose, browse for a location on your
computer, and then click OK to select the
location.Note: You must select an existing folder or create a folder in any of the root directories on your computer.
- Select the default location that is displayed.

Click Next.
The License server details window is displayed.

Perform the action as described in the following table for the type of
license server that you configured:
Option Action Server URL Enter the license server URL for any of the following types of servers that you configured: - Cloud license server
- Local license server
Server ID Enter the license server ID for any of the following types of servers that you configured: - Cloud license server
- Local license server
Proxy Host Enter the host name or IP address of the proxy license server that you configured. Proxy Port Enter the port of the proxy license server that you configured. Username Enter the user name of the user that you configured to use the proxy license server. Password Enter the password for the user that you configured to use the proxy license server. -
Click Next.
The Pre-Installation Summary window is displayed.

Read through the details, and then click
Install.
The Install Complete window is displayed after the installation of the product software is completed.Note: The Launch Library Manager checkbox is selected as the default option. The Library Manager is displayed when you click Done. If the Launch Library Manager checkbox is cleared, the stand-alone installer window is closed without opening Library Manager.
- Retain or clear the Launch Library Manager checkbox, and then click Done to close the stand-alone installer.
Results
You have installed the product on your computer.
What to do next
You can check the installation log to verify the installation. You can find the logs in the <Installation_folder>/logs folder.
You must set up the license before you can use the product. See Setting up licenses for DevOps Test Integrations and APIs.
