Editing virtual service resources
You can modify an existing virtual service resource that you created from the desktop product or a virtual service resource that you created in the containerized product on HCL OneTest™ Server. After you commit the edited virtual service resource to a branch in your project repository, you can start an instance of the virtual service resource on HCL OneTest™ Server.
Before you begin

Created a project in HCL OneTest™ Server. See Adding a project.

Added a Git repository to your project. See Adding repositories to a server project.
- Created virtual service resources by using the containerized product on HCL OneTest™ Server. See Creating tests or virtual service resources.
Procedure

Log in to HCL OneTest™ Server.
The team space that contains your project is displayed.

Open the project that contains the virtual service resources in the
test assets by clicking
.
The Overview page is displayed.

Click
in the navigation pane.
The Resources page is displayed.

Select the branch of the repository that
contains the virtual services that you want to edit from the list in the
Branch field.
All virtual services in the selected branch are displayed on the Resources page.

Identify the virtual service by completing any of the following steps:
- Search for the virtual service by entering the name or the path of the virtual service in the repository in the Search field box.
- Create a filter query by using the New filter
option and complete the following steps:
- Create a rule with an appropriate operator.
- Select criteria such as Name,
Path, Instance
number, or Instance state.
Select the condition and enter the value for the criteria.
Apply the filter query.
The virtual services that match the filter criteria are displayed.
- Save the filter query for retrieving it from the saved filters list.
- Retrieve a saved filter by using the Open
filters icon by completing the following steps:Note: To open the filter query, you must have created and saved a filter query.
- Select the saved filter.
- Apply the filter.
The virtual services that match the filter criteria in the filter that is applied are displayed.

Click the Edit icon in the Actions column of the virtual service
resource.
The containerized HCL OneTest™ API UI is displayed in a new browser tab.Note: If you are presented with a message prompting you to allow the content to be copied on the clipboard, select Allow and continue with your task.

Edit the virtual service resource by using the containerized product.

- Save and commit the virtual service resources to the Git repository that is configured in your project from the containerized product.
- Delete the containerized product session by closing the browser tab of the containerized product, and then click Delete session.
