Artificial Intelligence integration

DevOps Plan includes AI integration to help you automate various tasks.

DevOps Plan is enabled with AI as part of the installation. AI in DevOps Plan supports many prompts to automate functions in DevOps Plan.

Prompts are instructions or inputs given to an AI system to guide its responses or actions. They serve as a way to communicate with the AI, telling it what you want it to do or what kind of information you need. Prompts help the AI understand the context and the specific task it needs to perform. They can range from simple questions to complex instructions, depending on what you want to achieve. For example, a prompt can ask the AI to summarize a text, generate a report, or even create a plan.

Prompts improve interaction, making the interaction with AI more intuitive and user-friendly, allowing users to get the AI’s responses to their specific needs, ensuring personalized and relevant outcomes. Prompts also streamline processes by automating tasks through well-defined instructions, enabling users to save time and focus on more critical activities.

Prompts are a fundamental aspect of interacting with AI, enabling users to direct the AI’s capabilities effectively and efficiently. They are crucial for achieving accurate, relevant, and personalized results in various applications.

Some of the prompts that are enabled in AI include:
  • Use the Exploratory Test Charter to outline parameters, goals, and plans for a software testing session.
  • Summarize a piece of text.
  • Generate Meeting Notes from a piece of text, such as a meeting transcription.
  • Create Action Items that can be broken down by title and then used to create records.
Using the AI integration has the following requirements:
  • Acceptance of the AI legal terms.
  • You have an active AI integration.
To enable an AI integration in DevOps Plan, perform the following steps:
  1. Click the Configuration menu and then select Integrations.
  2. Click the New Integration button.
  3. Enter a Name for the integration, and also fill out the Provider, Credential Type, and API Key fields. DevOps Plan can integrate with the following providers:
    • OpenAI
    • IBM WatsonX
    • Microsoft Azure OpenAI
Note: Your API Key is provided by your AI Provider, either OpenAI, IBM WatsonX, or Microsoft Azure OpenAI.
  4. Click Next.
  5. The next screen provides optional settings to fine tune your AI integration. Default values are provided. Click Save.
  6. You can then use the Integrations page to manage your integrations. You can validate your integration by clicking More > Validate.
  7. You can use the Actions section to add a user group to the AI Integration.

After adding the AI integrations to a user group, EmailPlusAdmins, for example, you can view the AI integration details on the Integrations Member Access page by clicking Profile > Member Access.

To configure Member Access in DevOps Plan, perform the following steps:
  1. On the Integrations Member Access page, if you see a chevron icon next to an option in the Provider column, it indicates multiple integrations are available for that provider. Click the chevron icon to view all the integrations.
  2. In the Actions column, click the View icon to see the integration details for the credentials you want to choose.
  3. In the My Credentials column, select the credentials which you want to use for the AI integrations.

Users can then use the AI integration to work with any of the prompts in DevOps Plan.
