Creating a capacity plan
You can create a capacity plan by using the Capacity Planning feature to allocate resources efficiently and manage their capacity.
Before you begin
Procedure
To create a capacity plan:
- In DevOps Plan, click .
- In the Capacity Name field, type the release or project name you want to create the capacity plan for.
- In the Description field, type the description of the plan.
- From the Select User Group menu, select the user group to allocate capacity to.
- In the Capacity Based On section, select either Story Points or Hours, as required.
- Click the Planning tab. In the Individual Capacity section, the Resources column lists the resources that are available in the selected user group.
- In the Timeline section, choose the Start and End dates of the project by using the Calendar icon, and then click Done.
- In the Individual Capacity section, select a project from the list in the Projects column for each resource.
- In the Capacity Per Day, Total Capacity, Meetings/Activities Per Day, and Days Off fields, enter the capacity values based on your selection, either Story Points or Hours.
- Enable the Group by resources toggle button to view the details under the Individual Capacity section, grouped by resources.
- If any resource is assigned with multiple projects, click Add Project to add a row under the Individual Capacity section. Select the project and enter the capacity values, as required, and then click the Save icon in the Actions column.
- Click Save.
