HCL DevOps Loop provides an integrated suite of capabilities such as Plan, Code, Control, Build, Test, Release, Deploy and Measure to manage every stage of the software development lifecycle within a connected, continuous loop.
Test
The Test capability in DevOps Loop is powered by the DevOps Test application. Test centralizes test data, environments, test runs, and reports in a single web based interface within the DevOps Loop. It streamlines test management, execution, and tracking, providing greater efficiency and visibility to ensure quality throughout the loop.

Certificate authority: Importing and extending lists
When you want browsers and other applications to access Test , you must enable browsers to trust the certificate authority (CA) of Test. For some applications that integrate with Test, you must also extend the CA lists that are trusted by the applications.

Capabilities of DevOps Loop
HCL DevOps Loop provides an integrated suite of capabilities such as Plan, Code, Control, Build, Test, Release, Deploy and Measure to manage every stage of the software development lifecycle within a connected, continuous loop.
- Plan
  Plan is a change management software application within the DevOps Loop that supports seamless ticket creation, tracking, and comprehensive issue management. With customizable workflow automation, it helps teams to streamline and adapt processes to meet their unique business requirements while preparing work for the next stages of the loop.
- Code
  Code is a cloud-based browser IDE in a dev container that is part of HCL DevOps Loop, allowing developers to write, compile, build, and debug code directly in the browser without requiring local setup.
- Control
  Control manages source code within the DevOps Loop using GitHub compatible APIs that integrate with existing developer tools, workflows, and automation. It supports version management, collaboration, and code governance as development progresses.
- Build
  Build offers the capability to build applications, manage continuous integration workflows, and store build artifacts.
- Test
  The Test capability in DevOps Loop is powered by the DevOps Test application. Test centralizes test data, environments, test runs, and reports in a single web based interface within the DevOps Loop.     Test is a web-based continuous testing platform that consolidates test data, environments, test runs, and reports. It is built on cloud-native technologies and Docker, and it supports API, functional, and performance tests. Test offers scalability across cloud and on-premises systems with Kubernetes and IBM^® Red Hat OpenShift support.

    Test unifies test data, test environments, execution, and reporting in a web-based platform designed for both testers and non-testers. To achieve this, you must copy the third-party application Jar files to the computer where Test is installed on Kubernetes.

      Test provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server endpoint, allowing an MCP-compliant client such as VS Code to access specific server-side tools. The endpoint offers several tools that provide access to teamspace, project, and test asset details, along with the ability to run tests and obtain result details. You to access the endpoint with this configuration.
    - Integration of Test with Measure
      When you want to export the test results to Measure, you can use the Test plugin to integrate Test with Measure. After you complete the integration, you can run test assets, and then view the metrics on the Measure dashboard.

Importing the certificate authority into the Google Chrome browser

You must import the certificate authority (CA) into the Google Chrome browser to prevent certificate errors when accessing the Test .

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

You must have saved the CA assigned to Test. See Saving the certificate authority.
Installed the browser that you want to use to access Test.

Procedure

Open the Google Chrome browser.
Navigate to Customize and control Google Chrome > Settings.
Click Security from the Privacy and security pane.
Click Manage certificates, and then Import.
Click Next in the Certificate Import Wizard window.
Click Browse and select the CA that you want to import, and then click Next.
Select the Place all certificates in the following store option to store the CA securely.
Click Browse, and then select Trust Root Certification Authorities as certificate store.
Click OK, and then Finish.

Results

You have imported the CA into the Google Chrome browser.
