After you installed HCL® Local License
Server, you
must complete the post-installation tasks such as registration of the server and testing the
connection as required.
Procedure

Register HCL® Local License
Server:
-
Open HCL LLS Configure Utility.

Click the Settings icon on the
top right of the window.
-
Enter the installation path in LLS installed path, and then click
Submit.
The login screen is displayed.

Enter the following default values:
- Username: admin
- Password: HCLDefault1@
-
Click Log In.
-
Click Health in the menu bar to view the health status.
-
Click Configuration in the menu bar to navigate to the
Configuration page and note down the Host ID.

Log in to the HCL Software License & Download portal, and
then perform the following steps for device creation:

Select Create Device from the Devices
menu.

Enter the following details on the New Device page:
- Name: Enter a name to identify the device.
- Runs License Server: Select the checkbox.
- Server Deployment: Select the
Local option.
- ID Type: Select Ethernet ID from the drop-down list.
- ID: Enter the Host ID that you noted down from the
Configuration page in HCL LLS Configure Utility.
- Site name: Enter the location name, which is
optional.

Click Save.

Select the newly created device by clicking Devices from the
Devices menu.

Select one of the following options from the Actions menu on
the Devices page:
- Map Entitlements if you are a customer.
- Map by Activation-ID if you are a business partner. You
must enter the Activation-ID, and then click Validate.

Enter the number of license quantities you want to add to this server from the
available numbers.

Click Save.
-
Select , and then click Save as a temp file to change
the LLS Device Status to License
Generated.
You must then delete the saved temp file.

Refresh the Devices window to view the updated device state
and mapped product license entitlements.

Select , and then select Copy the Response.bin file (For
example, 0050569BF2BF.bin).

Switch to HCL LLS Configure Utility, and then perform the following steps:

Click Upload Capability Response file to select the
Response.bin file.
Note: You must upload the downloaded
Response.bin file within 24 hours. If not, you must
re-download the file for upload.
Now, your offline local license server is
ready to manage the licenses of your HCLSoftware products. You can also view the live
license usage of the products on the
Licenses page.

Navigate to the About page to view the server details such
as server version, hostname, service status, and path.
You can view the server logs at
C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\flexnetls\HCL\logs\flexnetls.log.

Perform the following steps to test HCL® Local License
Server offline:

Access the following URL in a browser and check the JSON response to test SSL connection
status:
https://FQDN-Hostname:PORT/api/1.0/health

Navigate to the Health page to view the server health
status.
