Deprecations and removals

You can find the features or capabilities announced as deprecated and the features or capabilities that are removed in HCL DevOps Deploy (Deploy). HCL DevOps Deploy is the new name of HCL Launch from 8.0.0 onwards.

You can find information about the following deprecations or removals:

Product features or capabilities

When features or capabilities are announced as deprecated, they continue to be supported although such features or capabilities are no longer enhanced and might be removed in a subsequent release. If you use a deprecated feature, you must migrate to the alternate feature, if applicable, before the deprecated feature is removed.

The removed features will not be available in the product version in which they are removed.

Dependent software

You can find information about the dependent software that were announced as deprecated in an earlier version and the version in which they were removed. Dependent software can include the operating systems, license servers, applications, or software required for using Deploy.
Notes:
  • Java 11 will no longer be supported when Deploy 8.2.0 is released in November 2025. You are advised to upgrade to Java 17 or 21. To upgrade your Java packages, see Managing Java packages on an agent. As a consequence of the removal of support for Java 11, operating systems such as Solaris and z/OS 2.4 will also be out-of-support. Windows 10 Pro will no longer be supported from the Deploy 8.2.0 release. You are advised to migrate to a supported operating system as listed in the Operating systems.
  • Maria DB Enterprise 10.5 database will no longer be supported from the Deploy 8.2.0.
Note: The FlexNet licensing system is removed in 8.0.1.3. All our existing customers (using versions 8.0.1 and earlier) can continue to use FlexNet licensing until June 2025. You must migrate to HCL Local License Server for a continuous license support. Upgrade to the latest versions of 7.3.2.x or 8.0.1.x to use the HCL Local License Server.
