Creating a response file manually
To use the silent installation capabilities of Installation Manager, you create a response file that contains all the commands that Installation Manager runs.
Typically, you create a response file by recording your actions as you install a package. However, you can also create or edit a response file manually. Some IBM® products include response files with the installation files.
Response
files contain two categories of commands:
- Silent installation preference keys set preferences for Installation Manager that you set by clicking .
- Response file commands emulate the actions of installation, update, modify, and uninstall wizards in Installation Manager.
