Installing
To install HCL Connections™, you need to follow a detailed series of procedures.
Optional: Installing and configuring Tiny Editors for HCL Connections
The Tiny editors are alternative rich-text editors which can be installed for HCL Connections™. They provide additional features and extensive customization options not available with the default editor.
Installing Tiny Editors for HCL Connections
Install the Tiny editors: TinyMCE and Textbox.io, to get a powerful editing experience inside HCL Connections™ with a streamlined user-interface and unparalleled customization.
Optional: Installing Tiny Editors Services
The Tiny Editors Services provide the following functionality for the Tiny Editors: spellchecking, link checking, and automatic embedding linked media. This task can be skipped if the spellchecking, link checking, and embed media features are not required.
Regenerate the webserver plugin
After installing new services, apply the new routing rules on the webserver by regenerating the plugin.

  - The installation process
    Review the steps that are required to install HCL Connections.

    Complete the following tasks before installing HCL Connections. If you are migrating from a prior release of HCL Connections, do not complete the tasks for creating databases or populating the Profiles database. The migration process handles those tasks automatically.

    Select the HCL Connections applications that you plan to use and install them in a clustered deployment.

        The Tiny Editors Services provide the following functionality for the Tiny Editors: spellchecking, link checking, and automatic embedding linked media. This task can be skipped if the spellchecking, link checking, and embed media features are not required.
        Configuring the application.conf for the Tiny Editors Services
        The Tiny Editors Services require configuration to allow communicating between the Tiny Editors WebSphere Application and external websites.
        Configuring the SSL certificates for the Tiny Editors Services
        This task provides procedures of configuring the trust store to include the certificates required for communicating with outside web servers. This is not required for spell-checking but is required for media embedding or link validation.
        Installing the Tiny Editors Services
        Installing the Tiny Editors Services will provide the Tiny editors with spellchecking, link checking and media embedding functionality.
        Starting the Tiny Editors Services application
        The Tiny Editors Services must be started before they can be used.

Regenerate the webserver plugin

After installing new services, apply the new routing rules on the webserver by regenerating the plugin.

Procedure

Navigate to Servers > Server Types > Web servers.
Select the checkbox for the webserver, and click Generate Plug-in.

Once the plugin has been generated, select the checkbox for the webserver, and click Propagate Plug-in.
