Deleting responses to forum topics

If you change your mind about a response that you posted to a forum topic, you can delete it.

Before you begin

Anyone who posts a response to a topic in a stand-alone forum can delete the response. Forum owners can delete any topic response in the forums that they own, and the Forums administrator can delete any topic response in any forum.

To delete a response to a community forum topic, you must be the author of the response or the community owner.

About this task

Deleting the response to a discussion topic deletes only the content of the response. The response is marked as deleted but a placeholder for the response is still visible in the forum.

Procedure

To delete a response to a discussion topic, complete the following steps:
  1. Open the topic thread that contains the response that you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Optional: Enter a reason for deleting the response. When the response is deleted, the reason is displayed in the response placeholder.
  4. Click Delete.
