If you are a Blogs site administrator, you can post announcements to the Public Blogs page that all users can see.

Before you begin

You must be a Blogs site administrator to create an announcement. Site administrators have access to an Administration tab as part of the Blogs interface.

About this task

An announcement is a great way to get the word out to your whole community of bloggers. For example, if you want to notify users about server maintenance or about an upcoming company event, post an announcement. Announcements display on the Blogs home page.

Procedure

Create a blog entry and enter your announcement text.
Expand the Advanced Settings section.
Select the box next to Post as announcement.
Post the entry.
It displays in the Announcements section on the Public Blogs page.
