Database password encryption for DB2
By default, HCL Compass does not encrypt database passwords sent to the DB2® server. To enable password encryption for DB2, configure the HCL Compass database connect options and configure the DB2 server for encryption.
- To encrypt database passwords sent to the DB2 server, you must use the connect option DB2_SECURE_LOGIN and set the authentication method for the DB2 server to SERVER_ENCRYPT.
- Configure the DB2 server
for encryption by following the instructions that are provided in
the IBM® DB2 Information Center for the version you are
using. See DB2 database
product documentation.Note: If the DB2_SECURE_LOGIN connection option is set in ClearQuest®, connection requests to a DB2 server that is not configured for encryption cause an ODBC DB2 Wire Protocol driver error.
