Subscribing users and groups to databases

This topic describes how to subscribe users and user groups to a database.

About this task

A user who is a member of a group that is subscribed to a database inherits subscription membership even if the user is unsubscribed from the database. To unsubscribe a user from a database, you must remove the user from all the groups that are subscribed to the database.

Procedure

  1. In the Designer, click File > User Administration.
  2. In the User Administration window, click DB Action > Subscribe.
  3. In the Select Users and Groups pane, select the users and user groups. In the Select Databases pane, select the databases to which to grant these users and groups access.
    • Select All existing and future databases to grant access to all databases.
    • Select Select databases and then select the specific databases to which to grant access.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Add this information to the user database. In the User Administration window, click DB Action > Upgrade and click OK in the Upgrade window.
