Installing Collaboration Data Objects

Collaboration Data Objects must be installed in Microsoft™ Outlook 2000 or Microsoft Outlook 2003 for HCL Compass MAPI notification to work properly.

About this task

If you do not have Microsoft Outlook 2000 or Microsoft 2003 installed, follow the recommended Microsoft Outlook 2000 and Microsoft 2003 installation procedures and guidelines. Be sure to select the option to install the Collaboration Data Objects.

If you have Microsoft Outlook 2000 or Microsoft 2003 already installed, follow these steps:
  1. On the Start menu, click Settings > Control Panel and double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Select Outlook 2000 or Outlook 2003 (or Office 2000 or Office 2003 if that is how Outlook was installed) and click Change.
  3. Expand Microsoft Office and click the Collaboration Data Objects icon.
  4. Click Run from my computer from the list.
  5. Click Update Now to finish.
Attention: HCL Compass Email 1.x and MAPI support have been deprecated. For enhanced email support, use the EmailPlus 2.1 package. For more information, see EmailPlus package.
